Here is a brief introduction to the sections of the magazine:

News
The News section is managed daily by the editor who will post new items as soon as they come in. If you have any news you would like to suggest for including in this section you may send Val Brain an e-mail.

Features
Our Feature stories are updated once each month. In this section we will offer you interesting stories about gliding from authors around the world. When new features are posted the previous stories will remain in an archive so that you will be able to find them easily. If you are interested in submitting a feature for possible publication please contact Val Brain by email.

Stories
In this section you may post your stories direct to the magazine. Simply follow the instructions and your story will be immediately placed on the site. Please use good judgment and submit only stories that are proper and about gliding.

Shopping
This is a direct link to the merchandise store of the SSA. In months to come we will expand the products and publications to include more items from around the world.

Gliding
This section is introductory information for people who do not know much about our sport. We will feature links to websites from gliding organizations throughout the world. If you would like to have your official gliding website listed simply send information by email.

Photos
The photo gallery is a place where you can post your own gliding photos. By following the instructions you can post your photos direct to the site. Send us your best photos and we will occasionally feature them on the front page of the magazine.

IGC
This is a direct link to the official website of the International Gliding Commission. The site is located within the official website of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI).

We have evolved from Motorgliding International, a conventional magazine launched in 1998 by the Soaring Society of America and the British Gliding Association. We ran for a year then switched to this online version which has steadily been gaining momentum. It is now attracting more than 1000 visits a day, the midweek being the peak time with up 1800.

We are anxious that this should be regarded as your space on the Internet were you can indulge in our very special, challenging and individualistic sport, swap ideas, pass on news, give opinions on gliding books and software and share your photos.

We want to hear from you wherever you glide and ability isn't a barrier. GMI is interested in you at whatever your level of experience and we hope you consider our features have a wide appeal. Many are written by some of the world's top pilots but if you have a topic you think will appeal to fellow pilots, then do get in touch by email.
